Timeless

A handcrafted log home is timeless... a link to our past.  A beautiful picture of American independence, families gathered around the table, values, hearth and home.  For me, a hopeless romantic, log homes symbolize forever friendships and the importance of family.

What about you?  What does your dream home look like?  What gets you excited?  A small, modest home that whispers "Cozy"; or a grand log home that calls out, "Come and gather! Bring all the grand-kids."

Did You Know?
The log cabin was claimed as a uniquely American icon when General William Henry Harrison adopted it as the symbol of his presidential campaign in 1840.

Whatever your dream home looks like, why not begin planning today?  Crafting a custom new home, restoring a beloved family home, or giving your place a much needed face-lift, we look forward to talking with you. 406-847-2316/ Mtspecilaty@gmail.com

"Nelson and his crew at Montana Specialty Log Construction repaired our family cabin in the Elkhorn Mountains and did an outstanding job! The three bottom courses of timbers on 2 sides of the cabin were badly rotten and needed to be replaced, a job that needed the knowledge and skill of a professional. Nelson has that knowledge and skill and put it to work on our cabin. Nelson showed up when he said he would, did a great job and completed the job ahead of schedule! I would highly recommend Montana Specialty Log Construction for any cabin repairs or new construction!"    -- Bill Niehoff

More Kind Words
"Be faithful in the little things. It's those little things that make up the big things."

How Do I Begin My Project?

Dreaming is fun and is even the first step to starting your project.  The obvious next step would be to know your budget.  Figure out a realistic balance between your dream home and what you can afford to spend.

What is the next step?  This can be a lot of fun!  Here is where your vision and creative ideas morph together.  Get organized!  Bring out all those clipped out magazine photos, drawings/sketches, and notes to self.  Put them all together and create a scrapbook of sorts.  This is a great way to organize the things you like and be able to easily show them to someone else.  This is much easier than lugging around a huge stack of magazines and trying to find that "certain" photo.  The scrapbook idea can answer a lot of questions for a builder.
Another way to accomplish this is to save photos to a designated board on Pinterest.
The idea here, is to have a visual record of the things you like and help you get them incorporated into your future home. This will also help you organize your own personal requirements.  What size home do you need, how many stories?  How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need?  Do you want a large roomy kitchen?

Now here is where Montana Specialty Log Construction comes in.  We will sit down with you and pull it all together.  Your ideas and requirements are about to become a reality!  Our team will create a floor plan and elevations for your custom home.  This is also where details will be discussed and matched to your budget.
