The Three C's:  Cute | Cozy | Custom

Hello Fellow Log Cabin Enthusiasts,
If I were to ask you what feelings the word cabin evokes, how would you answer?  If you have ever built a log cabin yourself, you might answer something like.... sweat, ingenuity, satisfaction.  If you've only read about log cabins, you might say,... refuge, romance, nostalgia; but if you live in a log cabin, you might think... resourceful, simplicity, family.... home.
Of course, there is no wrong or right answer.  A log cabin is an inviting place.  It is that refuge from a blustery day, it is that sturdy, satisfying structure, and for many of us, it is our home.
The Three C's for the Orchard View Cabin are:  Cute | Cozy | Custom!
The main difference between a log cabin and a log home is size.  We have all seen the massive log buildings in magazine ads.  They are indeed beautiful to behold, yet, they do not conjure up feelings of homey comforts.  Of course, a log home does not need to be massive or look like a lodge.  It can be quite homey too.  A small cabin does have some unique advantages however.
PictureMy Storybook Cabin
Whether we think of a storybook home in the woods or a pioneer' cabin on the prairie, small cabins will always enhance the landscape & not overwhelm it.  The natural resources blend into the surroundings, complimenting the environment.  Sometimes looking as if it has always been there or even grown up, out of the very trees and stones.  The log cabin can easily be extended by adding out-of-door "rooms".  A porch maybe, enclosed for all four seasons, a deck or patio.  Adding lots of windows can bring the outside "in" for a seamless canvass.  You will add instant beauty and natural light.  You can even bring trees indoors!  Your imagination is your only limitation.... posts, railings, mantles.

Another advantage to a smaller log cabin is affordability.  Montana Specialty start pricing their cabins at $90 a sq. ft.  A very affordable option whether a first time home, a vacation cabin or hunting get-away.  Plus, everything can be customized to meet your particular needs and tastes!  Visit the Cabins page for more detailed pricing and options.
The customizability of the log cabin also gives you the ability to be efficient with your use of space.  Design a lofted shelf above the door.  This is a great space for added storage of seasonal or bulky items.  Add a window seat to provide additional seating as well as storage space for linens, small appliances etc.  What about that space underneath your stairs?  It could hold firewood or become a tucked away coat closet.  Don't forget about that space above the kitchen cabinets.  A great place for those extra large bowls, vases or things you do not use everyday.
Hands down, the most important thing about your log cabin, is that you get to make it home.  An inviting place to welcome friends and family.  A special place to make memories and share laughter.  I know that you agree.

May your home be filled with warmth, love and laughter.
Blessings, Rosanne
