Hello!
How are you this beautiful autumn afternoon? I love October in my neck of the woods. The warm colors and hues; the fall flavors, just exude...comfy. (is that a real word?). Well, you know what I mean.
As log home lovers, we enjoy surrounding ourselves with the warmth of wood. It only grows more endearing over time with its character and patina. It is so versatile, being made into something rustic or even ornate, wood is simply beautiful!

Log walls are certainly attractive, whether full logs or the flat interior walls of the D-log. What about the floor? Flooring that gives our homes the perfect look and feel, is a question, often on the minds of a log home owners. Many of us would say the look and feel of wood floors, rather than contemporary coverings such as carpeting or laminate, would be our first choice. For myself, I know that it can be frustrating trying to keep carpets clean when your home is constantly full of family, friends and pets. That frustration is multiplied when you live in the country where dirt roads & paths contribute to dust, mud or snow being tracked across your floors. Who can relate?

Kind Words: "We just had them [MSLC] replace the existing rustic log railing on our cabin deck. The job was made more difficult by the fact that the new rails and posts had to be custom crafted to fit exactly into the existing post mounting spaces. That involved selecting the proper diameter logs for posts which then resulted in an exact spacing for each span. The end result was beautiful new railing installed very efficiently and professionally by Nelson’s crew! Great job.”--Bob Nagel
