Bud Neste Addition
Some photos of the Neste Project. A beautiful log addition and log carport.
River Road Cabin
In February of 2015 we began this turn Key Job.
When Todd and Julie called us, they had just bought an estate with an unfinished timber frame cabin. The shell had some major problems as the windows and doors had previously been installed without steel splines to keep the walls from buckling. After correcting the problems, we completed the interior framing, T&G, interior trim, exterior railing, flooring and kitchen. As well as as many smaller details. This is our burnt Circular Sawn flooring, which is a mix of larch and red fir. The flooring process includes laying the boards over a vapor-barrier, nailing, buffing, burning, cleaning, and then topping it off with 3 coats of satin stain. It's been great working with Todd and Julie, and we're thankful they are very pleased with the finished product!

Mike Schell Project
On this project we built a covered porch onto the front of the house. The deck features our log railing, and the roof system includes a King Truss. The photos include shots of before the project, setting the King Truss, extending the roof system, and the finished project.
Wayne Mooney Cabin
This photo gallery shows the tongue and groove walls and ceiling we did, as well as the log railing for Wayne Mooney. More information about our log stairways and railings can be found on this page.
Testimonial from the homeowner:
I am over 50 years old and never wrote a testimonial in my life…frankly I did not put much faith in them. However, I live in Florida and am trying to build a log home on Deer Island outside of Clark Fork, ID. I had a general contractor that was subcontracting many of the building processes until he left Idaho to seek fortunes on the gas pipeline in North Dakota. He took some of my money with him. So now I am the general contractor and I have to find a log cabin expert, plumbers, electricians, etc to finish this home. And much to my amazement in walks Nelson Troyer with Montana Specialty Log Construction. Trying to build a home 3000 miles away has its challenges and being the general contractor the most important attribute of builder is integrity and their quality of work. See Nelson Troyer. Nelson does the highest of quality for log home construction. Nelson has creative ideas and great suggestions that I never even thought of. Nelson estimates jobs for me and sends me money back if he ends up doing it for a lesser price. He is likely the only guy I would send a box full of money to and trust him to do the right thing…from 3000 miles away. I sure anyone can appreciate the quality and creative design of the homes he builds by looking at the photos of his work. What they may not see is the quality and integrity of the person doing the work. Nelson is exemplary…I trust him like a brother. My only hesitation with writing my first testimonial is that too many people will employ his gift of amazing construction.
